Jamaica made their debut in the Olympic Games in 1948 in London, England. Since then, Jamaica has acquired 67 medals with 66 of them coming in Athletics and 1 coming in the sport of Cycling. Jamaica has participated in every Olympic Games since then except the 1960 edition where Jamaica went under the banner of the British West Indies. This was during a period of time where the West Indies Federation was formed between Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago as a way to lead to Economic Stability, however this was dissolve and in 1964 in Tokyo, Jamaica competed back at the Olympics.
