Minister Grange Mourns Death of Former Permanent Secretary Alison McLean

The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport has been plunged into mourning this morning, upon learning of their passing Overnight of the former Permanent Secretary, Alison McLeansaid Minister, the Honourable Olivia Grange, said that the information came as a jolt:”This really breaks my heart.

Alison has been the consummate professional in a career which spanned academics, regional and administration support. I discovered her to be rather pleasant person who had time for light hearted humour and moments.I consider her death untimely as I am convinced she had far more to donate to her country and the area.

We are definitely grateful for a life which was distinguished by support to region and country.”Alison McLean was a former Business Development and Organisational Development Executive who successfully transformed career courses to function as primary Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.She was recognised and highly respected because of her bold advocacy for human rights and ecological stewardship. She blazed an unrivalled trail of activism and her unbridled passion for good corporate governance has been exemplified by many here in Jamaica as well as the wider Caribbean region.Minister Grange added:”I hail her contribution as a real sex winner, having led the charge as Head of UN Women, Multi-Caribbean Office. On behalf of this government, I extend deepest condolences to her immediate and extended families, such as our family at the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.”
