Jamaica’s COVID-19 cases reach 1,003

Jamaica recorded 16 fresh COVID-19 cases as at Saturday (August 9), bringing the whole number of positives for the island to 1,003.

Recoveries are at 745 or 74.3percent while there are 190 or 18.9% busy instances, including six (6) averagely ill persons. Some 55 or even 5.5percent of cases have returned with their own country of origin while 1 3 or even 1.3% have died.

Ten (10) of the 16 newly validated cases are six (6) are men, with ages varying from 12 to 42 decades. Nine (9) are imported instances with speeches in St. James, Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Ann, and St. Mary. 2 (two ) are contacts of confirmed cases, one with a Clarendon address and one flip a St. James address. Five (5) are under analysis. Of the five cases, four are of speeches at Kingston and St. Andrew and yet one in Westmoreland.

Only at that time, there are 373 imported cases; 298 that are connections of confirmed cases; 68 local transmission cases maybe not epidemiologically related; 236 related into the workplace audience in St. Catherine; and 28 under investigation.

Some 560 or 56% of the total confirmed cases are 443 or even 44 percent are males. Their ages range between two (two ) weeks to 88 years.
